Well isn’t the weather a bit dreary? It’s supposed to be August, but we feel like the umbrellas have been out more than ever this year. As we also opted for a Staycation (read: Glastonbury), we kind of feel like we’ve been cheated out of the good stuff. However, it’s given us a little bit of time to take stock of what’s been going on in the world of design and interiors…

We’ve found three new launches for August to get you out of your doom-and-gloom funk:

Patch help us get more Green(ery)

Move over Uber, you can now get plants and all kinds of wonderful green bits delivered to your door. Having just secured a huge investment – and with 5,000 loyal London customers crying out for more, Patch want to fill the gap left by the decline of the traditional garden centre and bring gardening into the digital age.

Freddie Blackett, CEO and co-founder of Patch says: “For too long, the pleasure of living with plants, whether indoors or outdoors, has been out of reach to young city dwellers. We hope to make it simpler for people to buy the right plants for them and their space. We’re going to use technology to equip them with knowledge, discovery and inspiration and, in turn, provide superb service and convenience. Our aim is to help more people to love a life with plants”.

A good workman never blames his tools

To be honest, when it comes to Nomess’ latest creation, he kind of doesn’t have a choice. In what seems to be an attempt to jazz up even the most dreary of home items, the Clear Tool Box from Nomess is the perfect vessel for anything from kitchen utensils to make-up brushes. It’s simple appearance means it doesn’t draw the eye and we’re certainly already imagining putting wooden spoons in there.

What’s more, you can buy this little slice of Danish design from the WallpaperSTORE* for a mere £26.00.

First Class luggage at economy prices

Now we’ve been lusting after the suitcases from Away for a while and their new arrival might just swing us over the edge. Their new Monogram Edition luggage is the perfect way to ensure your suitcase doesn’t get taken away by mistake at the carousel.

Featuring a multitude of colour options, customise up to three letters per case, picking between fonts, colours and shading to get a look that’s totally you. Each one is then made to order and Away offer a 100-day free trial, so if you don’t love it after you’ve travelled, you can send it back with less hassle than picking a seat on a Ryanair flight. Oh, did we also mention the cases feature USB charges, TSA approved locks and with GPS as an additional extra?

So whether you’re jazzing up your home for a staycation or jetting off with some snazzy new luggage, there’s plenty to get your teeth into this August.
